Many Muslims consider tobacco to be Makruh (something unpopular or hateful) according to the Shari'ah, but not Haram (forbidden). Whenever you give any advice about this look, they choose to ignore it. Although people are aware of the ill effects of tobacco, it seems that Satan and their nephew want them to continue to cause harm to their bodies and health.
Certainly cigarettes were not present during the life of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v.s.), however, in both revelations: in the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah (hadith) there are decisions and messages regarding similar substances.
As a rule, the Qur'an forbids all that is evil. Says Allaah the Exalted:
"He (the Prophet Muhammad) permits them all that is good and lawful and forbids all that is evil." (Qur'an, Al-A'raf: 157)
Evil and sin manifest themselves in things, beliefs, persons, foods, drinks, etc. So, if smoking proves to be among the bad things, then this alone is enough for believers to understand that smoking is forbidden, given the above-mentioned verse of Surat al-A'raf.
Tobacco is a killer
It causes diseases such as lung cancer, tuberculosis and heart disease (to name a few). And we know that Allah Almighty forbids us to kill ourselves:
“And don't kill yourself. Indeed, Allah is Merciful to you. And whoever does this through aggression and injustice, We will throw it into a fiery fire. And this is easy for Allah. "(Qur'an, An-Nisa ': 29-30)
Allah Almighty also says:
"And do not throw yourselves to destruction" (Qur'an, Al-Baqarah: 195)
Tobacco burns (destroys) wealth
Allah Almighty says:
“But don't spend (on your property) too much of a place like a smuggler. Verily, the masters (those who spend excessively, unnecessarily and unnecessarily) are brothers of the devils. "(Qur'an, Al-Isra: 26-27)
Aren't they seeing Muslims smoking? Those who tighten every cent just to ruin it in cigarettes! ... Subhanallah, along with health, burns and destroys wealth.
Tobacco causes harm to non-smokers
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "There is neither harm nor harm." (Sahih Al-Jami, 7517)
Many people have trouble breathing when they accidentally inhale smoke from someone's cigarette or cigarette, especially those suffering from bronchial asthma. It has also been medically proven that non-smokers are harmed when in the company of smokers (i.e., passively smoking). Smoking by parents has been linked to their children's respiratory problems and caused them to die. It is also the cause of many devastating fires.
Tobacco causes the spread of sin and evil
Since smoking is bad, smokers should remember that when they do so openly, they set a bad example for others, thus encouraging children and young people as well as others to smoke.
Tobacco negatively affects worship
Many smokers dislike fasting and attending Islamic study sites, Islamic lectures, etc., as they constantly need cigarettes and tobacco. The smoker is addicted both physically and mentally.
Tobacco causes the smoker and the environment to smell bad
Everything that the smoker comes in contact with smells, so smokes: his car, clothes, house, etc. Therefore, when a smoker prays in congregation, he damages and impedes his fellow worshipers, as well as the angels, with his bad smell.
Muhammad (s.a.v.s.) said:
“Anyone who has eaten garlic, onions or leeks should stay away from our mosque. Indeed, the angels are harmed (ie, prevented) by that which damages the son of Adam. ”(Sahih Bukhari).
The above points are clear evidence that smoking is a very bad thing, and that is why it is Haram. If a Muslim is under stress, then he must turn to Almighty Allah for help. Here we point out that even medical science has openly rejected the myth that smoking calms the nerves. What we know for sure and surely, is that the remembrance of Allah the Exalted is healing, as Allah (SWT) says:
"Indeed, with the remembrance of Allah, hearts find rest." (Qur'an, Er-Ra'ra: 28)
So when the desire for tobacco arises, turn to the Qur'an and strive to obey the commands of Allah (SWT).
"Those who strive and fight vigorously for Our cause, surely We will guide them to Our Way." (Qur'an, Al-Ankebut: 69)
